PRIVATE EVENT Mental Health First Aid (virtual) May 6th and 7th, 2023

AHVNA is offering Mental Health First Aid for Early Childhood Educators working with children ages 6-12 years old, predominantly in out of school programs. In partnership with the Government Alberta, AHVNA will provide release time disbursement to educators for the hours allotted to this training.

Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved.

Training will be held virtually from 9:00 – 1:00 pm on both days (May 6th and 7th)

You must complete pre-requisite work, as well as both days to receive release time funding and certification. You will be emailed a code and link to complete module 1 which must be handed in before the training begins.
