Mental Health First Aid (Virtual) June 1 & 2, 2024

Event Phone: 780-429-4787

Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved. AHVNA is proud to be offering Mental Health First Aid for Early Childhood Educators.

Training will be held virtually from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on both days (June 1 & 2).

You must complete online pre-requisite work, as well as attend both days to receive certification. You will be emailed a code and link to complete module 1 which must be handed in before the training begins.

In partnership with the Government Alberta, AHVNA will provide PD funding ($17.50/hour) to licensed educators for the hours allotted to this training. This course is approximately 9 hours of training. PD Funding is in addition to the 45 hours of funding provided by the Ministry of Children and Family Services.

In order to register, centres must be a member of AHVNA; one membership of $100 allows for any Early Childhood Educator within that agency to register for training through these grants.

If you have any questions, or trouble registering please email ece@ahvna.org or call our administrative team at 780.429.4787
