Mental Health First Aid (virtual) October 21st and 22nd, 2023

Event Phone: 780-429-4787

AHVNA is proud to be offering Mental Health First Aid for Early Childhood Educators working with children ages 6-12 years old, predominantly in out of school programs. In partnership with the Government Alberta, AHVNA will provide PD funding to licensed educators for the hours allotted to this training. Funding will be mailed directly to Early Childhood Educators who register for training. In order to register, centres must be a member of AHVNA; one membership of $100 allows for any Early Childhood Educator within that agency to register for training through these grants.

Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved.

Training will be held virtually from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on both days (October 21st and 22nd)

You must complete pre-requisite work, as well as both days to receive release time funding and certification. You will be emailed a code and link to complete module 1 which must be handed in before the training begins.

If you have any questions, or trouble registering please email ece@ahvna.org or call our administrative team at 780.429.4787
