AHVNA is thrilled to be offering MindUp for Life! MindUp is an evidence-based program that is an easy to implement tool. MindUp helps educators support children to develop the mental fitness to build a happier, healthier and more balanced life. The MindUp Program teaches the strategies and skills you need to find optimism, build resilience and create solutions for life’s challenges.
Training dates will be: Thursdays April 4th (6:30 pm – 8:00 pm), April 11 (6:30 pm – 7:30 pm), May 2nd (6:30 pm – 7:30 pm) and May 9th (6:30 pm – 7:30 pm)
The training includes:
- 90-minute Introduction to MindUp for Life training session
- 60-minute Trauma informed learning environments session
- 2 x 60 minute sessions to learn about the MindUp portal and to share ideas and successes for integrating MindUp into your centre/day home
- 4 hours of self-led training through the MindUp online portal (qualifies for PD Funding)
- A year access to the MindUp online portal, with access to over 18 MindUp self led courses
- AHVNA Members also receive a MindUp “Golden Nuggets” box with resources to help begin MindUp programming
In partnership with the Government Alberta, AHVNA will provide PD funding ($17.50/hour) to licensed educators for the hours allotted to this training. This course is approximately 8.5 hours of training. PD Funding is in addition to the 45 hours of funding provided by the Ministry of Children and Family Services.
In order to register, Agency or individual must be a member of AHVNA; one membership of $100 allows for any Early Childhood Educator within that agency to register for training through these grants
