Government Partnership

AHVNA is proud to partner with the Alberta Government to provide a diverse offering of Mental Health professional development to Early Childhood Educators. An estimated 1.2 million children and youth in Canada are affected by mental illness. The training we are providing is evidence-based and focused on children’s developmental needs which include empathy, mindfulness, social-emotional learning, connection, and education.

The purpose of these projects is to support the Early Childhood workforce in accessing professional development resources and supports to promote quality programming in early learning and childcare settings.

Our goal is to provide access to enhanced tools and resources, so that Educators are supported to create emotionally healthy environments in their classrooms, promote effective stress management approaches, self-regulation strategies and build emotional resiliency.

Funding will be provided to ECEs who participate in professional development offered through AHVNA.
